Well Water Test Kits
The purpose of a well water test kit is to analyze samples of water to determine the possible contaminants and water quality of a given well. The results of these tests can be used to evaluate possible treatment technologies, as well as identifying potential problems that might arise with system operations or discharge permitting.
As with any analysis, the quality of the data is critical to the reliability of the results. You should always try to sample water that is representative of what will actually be used on the plant. Water quality from test wells, wells near the general area, and aquifers of the same or similar depth may or may not be representative of a fully developed well at full flow.
Relying on test wells, irrigation wells, or pumping at the rate less than production rate for final design can result in poor assumptions, delayed projects, and increased costs. In addition, it is not unusual for the mineral composition of your well water to change, once the aquifer is being drawn down at production rates for a little while. Due to the critical importance of well water quality and availability, it is very important that you enlist the service of a qualified hydrologist early in your design process.
